Description
The opioid epidemic is destroying communities and families across America. Addressing a crisis of this scope and magnitude requires everyone who has a stake to be part of the solution, including the business community. Businesses are a vehicle to help solve the problem.
During this luncheon, you will that there have been significant advances in the diagnosis and treatment of painful conditions without or with just minimal use of opioids. However, in and out of the workplace, it is critical to understand the challenges and identifiers of drug misuse (whether prescribed or not). You will learn:
- Results of the Health and Human Services(HHS) Best Practices Pain Task Force, which were submitted to Congress
- A Medical Director's perspective on diagnosing the source of a patient’s painful condition not just masking it with opioids narcotics
- How to best be prepared for dealing with an employee(s) using opioids
- Removing the stigma attached to patients and prescribing physicians
- Prevention and treatment initiatives to keep employees and their families healthy and safe
